Actor Dhanush needs no introduction. Generally, the path to stardom for any actor is not through large-scale films but through simple and natural films. This is true for every actor in Hindi films right up to Shah Rukh Khan and superstar Rajinikanth of South cinema. Though netizens love massive movies, simple movies are relatable as the audience feels connected to the character. The best example of this is Dhanush’s extraordinary film choice.

Most of Dhanush’s films often work on a macro level. There is a personal conflict in his films. We never see Dhanush showing his might in movies, fighting corrupt goons, or saving the world from larger-than-life issues; Instead, he plays the role of an ordinary man. Doing so certainly has the ball in his court, and he is known for his regular Joe character.

Here are five movies where the audience has loved every character of Dhanush, if you are also a fan of Dhanush then you must watch these movies.

Thiruda Thirudi

Dhanush’s first films following are Thuluvadho Elami and Kadhal Konden, a cult, yet Thiruda Thirudi is one of his best performances. This is the film that brought Dhanush to the masses. Though the film had instability and politically incorrect elements, the film was a huge hit among the youth. This was mainly because audiences could relate to the character of a middle-class male played by young Dhanush. Also, most of the credit for the film’s success goes to Manmadha Ras, the then high-octane track, and Dhanush’s strong performance in the song.

Thiruvilayadal Arambam

The entire plot of this film can be summed up in one line – a middle-class boy blackmails his rich girlfriend’s brother and becomes a wealthy businessman with the money earned so that he can lead a happy life with his girlfriend. We all know the plot is wrong on many levels, but Dhanush and Prakash Raj’s performance makes up for it. The rift and happiness between Dhanush and Prakash Raj is a matter of ease for the eyes.

Yaradi ni Mohini

Yaradi Ni Mohini, directed by Mithran Jawahar, is a Tamil revamp of Venkatesh’s Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule by the same director for Thiruchitambalam. Most of Dhanush’s films have a gripping tale of a touching relationship between a father and a son. Movies that depict complex family relationships like this film are hard to find in today’s film culture.

Velai Ila Pattaholder (VIP)

It is a superhit film and Velai Ila Pattadhari (VIP) needs no introduction. As soon as it was released, the film was a success and was a super hit. In this film, Dhanush brilliantly portrays the role of an educated engineer who is unemployed but does not believe in accepting jobs outside his education. But the death of his mother forces him to take up the job. His average Joe character suddenly turns into the lust of a bigger character like in Dhanush’s later films.

Thanga Magan

In the Tamil film industry, Dhanush is probably the only self-conscious actor. He knows which role he chooses and puts his hundred percent into it. Dhanush had already ventured into Bollywood with films like Raanjhanaa and Shamitabh before the release of Thanga Magan. Then, when he was at the peak of his career, any actor would turn down Thanga Magan for a small role, but Dhanush did not. This is what makes him special. He always sticks to his core and never forgets what made him a star; It was short films like this. He decided to act in Thanga Magan, which is why we also have Thiruchitambalam.

Dhanush may have entered Hollywood playing the role of Lone Wolf, a deadly assassin, but he will always be an acquaintance in the eyes of the audience. Maybe other actors should learn the same thing. Today, his latest film, Thiruchitrambalam released on the silver screen, and the musical family drama is garnering overwhelmingly positive reviews from all. Along with Dhanush, Raashi Khanna, Prakash Raj, and Nithya Menon also feature in important roles in Thiruchitambalam.
