        The founder of KFC was Harland Sanders, nicknamed Colonel Sanders, who was born on September 9, 1890, near Henryville, Indiana, US – died on December 16, 1980, near Shelbyville, Kentucky. He was an American business executive, a dapper self-proclaimed Southern gentleman whose white hair, white bun, white double-breasted suit, and black string tie became a trademark for Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in countries around the world.

Sanders, who dropped out of school in seventh grade, worked a variety of jobs before opening Sanders Cafe (1929) behind a service station in Corbin, Kentucky. The cafe, which offered family-style dinners, soon gained a huge clientele; And in 1935, Sanders received his honorary colonel from the governor of Kentucky.

Colonel sanders had a hand behind the success of kfc. He became famous in the world due to his fried chicken recipe. Sanders did not let the age barrier become a hindrance to his success and he got success at the age of 65. His father died when he was 5 years old, after which the responsibility of raising his family which included his younger brother and sister fell on him. After this he tried his hand in many things. These included jobs like farmers, streetcar conductors, railroad firemen and insurance salesmen. He could not succeed in this, at the age of 16 he left his school. He lost his four jobs when he was only 17, married at 18 and had a daughter the very next year, soon his wife left him with their baby girl.

He devised his recipe for “Finger-Lickin’ Good Chicken” in 1939, which used a secret blend of 11 spices and a pressure cooker to seal in flavor and moisture.
      After selling his restaurant, Sanders hit the road armed with his recipe but signed on to only five restaurants in two years. However, by 1964, there were over 600 franchises in the United States and Canada, and Sanders was earning $300,000 per year.

   That same year, Sanders signed on for John Brown of Kentucky and Jack Massey of Tennessee for most of his fast-food empire, provided they received $2,000,000, a lifetime salary of $40,000 per annum including a seat on the board of directors., including a seat on the board of directors. In 1971, the company, which claimed 3,500 franchisees and $700,000,000 per year in business, was acquired by Hublin Corporation. Sanders remained active as an official ambassador and also appeared as a non-politician in the company’s commercials and commercials.
